Bought to replace Jamo S803. Like these speakers, they have a V-shaped sound. But thanks to the exquisite tweeter, it's very nicely done. Just because I said V-shaped doesn't mean there isn't a midrange. It's a bit muted, but still very present and very clear. Extremely clear. Whereas the 803's over-the-top bass resonates too much with the body for me and confuses things (still a great speaker for the price). In my opinion, these C93 IIs are great for dialogue. Also great for music (uh-huh). A good amp/DAC will have the low frequencies drop off by about 45Hz or so (depending on the room). I have used the SMSL SA300 with the SMSL M100 DAC and the entire frequency response is clear, present and dynamic. These speakers have a very open sound and sound bigger than they might appear from the outside. The finish is vinyl which is quite decent and quite acceptable (looks very nice). The sleek tweed grilles are a nice change from other speakers in their class. You have great aesthetics. If they're under $400 and you've been thinking about buying a pair, stop thinking and start buying.
