Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Wire Bead Panaracer Swoop Tire by Dakota Tailor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High-quality, high-volume off-road tire.

They were purchased for a 1988 Schwinn rigid ATV (they weren't called mountain bikes then). The tires are easy to mount on the rims and fit well in the frame. The tires are directional, with an arrow on the sidewall indicating the preferred direction of rotation. The actual inflated dimension on my rims is pretty much exactly 2 inches wide. They "look" right on the bike, and more importantly, they perform well off-road, providing traction on loose gravel and sand when cruising trails along the Flatirons outside of Boulder. I haven't ridden them on tarmac but the lugs are pretty close together so they might be better than some other spiked tires. I run them at around 30psi off-road, if I was driving on tarmac I would probably pump them to around 40psi. I like them so much I will probably buy a second set for another bike I have.

Pros
  • ETRTO: 52-559
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
