I have several DACs and DAPs but I prefer the ESS sound which is crisp and clear. I bought a HIDIZS AP60 II with a warmer sounding AK4452VN and then bought an AP60 Pro (ES9118C) because of the DAC difference. Both players have a very clean and functional operating system, working Bluetooth and easy operation. I have 200GB SD cards each with ALAC (44/16 and 96/24), MP3, FLAC (96/24 and 192/24) and single speed (2.8MHz) files per DSD. Both players have won back everything I've offered them so far. The Pro seems to have a bit more power to handle full-size headphones. Any of these would be good choices for a lossless/HiRes player.
