GOOD First of all, I like the engine. It's actually pretty well built. I've seen comments about "smells burnt". I have the smell of a new engine running for the first time. This part is normal and I'm sure it will go away after a while. BADI won't call the pedal "junk" like some do, but I will say it's cheaper than the motor it comes with. Additionally, it's not designed to do what I (and others) expected it to do. Instead of letting the user speed up and slow down the machine, it's a simple snap-action switch mounted in the foot pedal. It simply turns the motor on or off completely. Those who say their foot pedal is getting hot are probably experiencing it because the momentary switch isn't fully closed or fully open when trying to control speed. This is poor design for its intended purpose.
