I ordered a very small cage and it is quite small and smaller than the cage I have. I had to look at the measurements as they are accurate. There is a small pouch with a small heart rate monitor and it comes with batteries. It's not super powerful or anything, but you just hold the button and it makes beats. I haven't run out of batteries yet so I don't know how long they will last but with very small puppies they should not be left out for long. This pad is not too thick, but not too thin either. It is very soft to the touch. You can wash this but don't forget to take out the heartbeat device. Because the device is on the edge, you don't seem to feel it all over the tablet's surface, but you actually do. I adopted one of my bitches when she was 3 weeks old and it is very sad when they lose their mother in this situation. He has had emotional issues throughout his life, which I believe is related to his traumatic childhood. I actually ordered this for my little dog because she unexpectedly lost her two older brothers last year and she has never been the only dog in the 10 years I've had her. Because of all this, she was very afraid. To be honest I can't tell if she likes it or not because she's so hyper and all over the place. But I think it would be good for puppies and I'll have it on hand if we ever get one again.
