I bought this walking stick as I don't like having my hands full with traditional twin canes/walking. Using this longer stick or staff also worked well with my height (I'm 6ft 2ft). I recently did some hikes in the Lake George, NY area, one of which was quite challenging, with steep climbs and rough terrain. The staff did a good job of adding an important third point of balance on rough terrain, which gave me a point to use upper body strength to reduce the stress on my legs on steep sections of trail, and most importantly has it served well for examining the foliage and piles of rocks for sure footing. The three piece design also made it easy to stow things in the back pocket of my car seat. I've seen some reviews questioning the stability/durability of this staff. While I've used it for balance and as a push off on steep climbs, it's clearly not designed to support a person's entire body weight. This is a walking/hiking aid and not a gymnastics device. Depending on the design intent and parameters used, this stick will be an attractive and very practical addition to your camping gear.
