Revainrating 4 out of 5

About as good as I've seen but could be better

I bought this version (PB04-AC) and the old version (PB03-AC). . Neither is perfect, but both work. The overall size of the hands at the ends of the temples is about the same as the 03 when both blank and closed, but this (04) has a slightly smaller, slimmer body and stainless steel handles that feel more solid. This has a locking switch that can be moved between positions and does not have to be held down. For example, you can move it to open and share it. That's good because the one I received required two hands on stainless steel levers, with opposing hands pulling in opposite directions to open the hands and put the phone down. Once the phone is in the right position, you can let go of your hands and the hands will automatically close (spring-loaded) to get closer to the phone. I have an iphone 12 with apple gel case and my hands fit just right in height, width and depth. I'm not sure if this works for all phones (especially if the height/width ratio works. But they do include foam pads if the phone is thinner than hands. Once the phone is attached the lock switch can be moved to the lock position. .Although not sure if this is necessary. As I said, it takes a hand on two opposing stainless steel levers to open the claws.Added this part after using it for about a week.Without a phone in the holder it rattles like crazy i didnt think something so small and light could make such an annoying noise even when i ride my bike on a mostly flat track it keeps rattling i will either keep stuffing in it all the time or maybe think of a rubber band So that your hands of steel don't shake back and forth so quickly. Damn annoying. Overall I like it. But it can Wouldn't be better if you could open it with one hand and the other hold the phone firmly instead of rattling like crazy when it's empty.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
