persistent? Probably no.

I just received my Spigen Rugged Armor case for Apple AirTag and at first I thought I wasn't very impressed with the product. The reason I bought this particular product is because it is marketed as durable and uses one of my AirTags on my Can-Am keys that are intended to be used in very harsh, unforgiving conditions. Quite easy. I needed a solution to secure AirTag and therefore my keys. First of all, this product has two main disadvantages: 1. The sturdy carabiner is made of a very cheap and thin material that attaches to the AirTag case loop with a single cheap snap. I would describe the material as similar to the cheap straps found on a backpack or various holsters for a pocket tool or knife. Undoubtedly, this material blooms on its own, and even earlier under the influence of the sun and heat. The real problem with this mechanism, however, is that the button is triggered with very little pressure. If you force the AirTag case out of the carabiner it will actually detach and therefore lose the AirTag as the carabiner will most likely get jammed on something. The AirTag case itself is also solidly built and will likely protect the AirTag from all impacts other than the AirTag itself. The problem with this case, however, is that the hinge is made of a very malleable plastic that's more likely to break or tear. again during the life of the product when exposed to the sun or heat. This loop was possibly the most reinforced part of the product, with a steel cable or even an ABS insert. Overall does it do what it's supposed to do? Yes. I would absolutely not use a carabiner with the snap button strap that comes with it, but an alternative would be to cut it off and add paracord. This is an average product at best, hence the average score. I'm curious to see how it behaves with more frequent use and whether it also works under really tough conditions. I hope Otterbox releases a product as it is a company I trust with a lifetime guarantee.
