I am a big fan of 3M Command products and use their picture hangers where nailing or drilling is not recommended. They were perfect for installing three long under cabinet lights above the kitchen counter and recent use was installing small pixie shelves above the curtains in the living room. Adhesive pads were provided for the latter, but a glance at the damaged wall as the user tried to remove the shelf hanging from it was enough to find another way. The images themselves are not perfect unless you are very specific with your measurements. Once you press on a picture frame or whatever you're hanging on it and snap the strips into place, you can't straighten it or adjust it "just a little" without a lot of effort. Please note, however, that the strips tend to dry out. over time, and because of this, removal is not always as easy as 3M assures you. So if you find it necessary to remove any of them, pull down VERY SLOWLY and you shouldn't have any problems.
