I find the white hot feature more annoying than helpful after a while. You can usually tell if the food is too hot without a visual inspection. And the color change happens in "warm" temperatures, which I wouldn't consider dangerous. This is annoying because sometimes I want to give food that isn't refrigerated or at room temperature and now this dish is telling me I'm trying to burn my baby. I could probably just ignore it, but the spoon itself is actually pretty annoying just using it. It is difficult to gain something with silicone, forget about mashed potatoes - they immediately slip off. and because of the color changing feature, these spoons are not dishwasher safe so i have to hand wash them. It's okay if I liked them, but no, so it's on the annoyances list now. Also, more experienced moms will likely roll their eyes because it's pretty obvious and also a bit overcautious. but the metal handle seems to be a big safety issue because I want to give him a spoon but I have a feeling that metal end will end up poking right in his eye. Since there isn't much of it (dare I say it's pretty spicy) I don't think he likes holding it anyway.
