Review on Summer Infant Decorative Pressure Mounted by Paula Whalen

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Attractive but difficult to install and difficult to use.

Very attractive children's goal. But they have some design flaws that make them difficult to install and use. 1) The gate relies on pressure to align the gate latch mechanism, which is unreliable and inaccurate. 2) The gate has a threshold, which is difficult for small animals or old people to use. I would recommend people to look for gates where the moving part has NO threshold. 3) The gate latching mechanism requires the lever to be depressed and then the gate to be LIFTED up and over the threshold. It's very difficult and many of my guests are now trying to block the gate instead of caring. NOT SAFE.4) Gate extensions are wobbly and result in crooked gates. This is totally unacceptable. See photos. So in general the gate gets an A for aesthetics and an A for functionality.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
