5 stars but not perfect

Have been using it for a week or two. In general a very good product. I like the backlight and it seems accurate enough. I used to have another cheaper brand and it was too sensitive to storage/device temperature. This appears to be true as long as the temperature at which the device is stored (the internal temperature of the case) does not drop more than 30 degrees (e.g. to 40 F). I tried it this morning after leaving it in a garage that had hit 30F and gave me an error message. About 10 minutes of warming up indoors and he's back online. I read a little while it was still a bit cold and the temperature was lower, maybe 3 degrees. When it's room and reading room temperature, it matches my thermostat in the house pretty well. The deviation may not exceed 1 degree. It is difficult to judge the readings of very cold objects (e.g. outdoors in winter). Emissivity from objects varies, but I checked a painted house and it was within a few degrees of what our outdoor weather station sensor reported. Overall I think this is a pretty well designed device for the price. Oh yeah - with lasers aimed at the bulb, and the centering is a little off - but not that bad. The hottest readings were taken when the top beam was on top of the bulb, not at the center of the two beams. Alignment is likely device dependent. Again, not perfect, but not bad either. Overall I would recommend this product.
