Good for the price but don't use a 12v outlet.

I have never used a car/truck fridge like ARB or Dometic fridges. The price is much lower than the well-known brands, so I try to keep my expectations under control. I highly recommend that you either plug it in and cool it at home before each trip, or leave your car on when it first turns on. . It seems to consume enough energy to reach the initial pace. Also, 12v (cigarette lighter plug) doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I often get errors when using a 12 volt plug. It just seems too long and wants to pop out of almost anything I put it in. I've found it works better if you use an AC adapter and haven't encountered any errors so far. I've tried the 12V plug on several different batteries and power supplies and I always get an error message. I haven't seen the error yet when plugged into an outlet. So unless you can use AC power I wouldn't even bother with this device. I am using the Yeti 150 Target Zero with an AC plug to see how long it lasts and so far I have 6 hours and 60% battery life left. Remember I plugged it in first to cool down and use it in economy mode. Also, it can be a bit noisy. Not that loud, but I keep it in the back of my truck and sleep over it in a rooftop tent. If you are a light sleeper and sleep next to it, it may wake you up. I don't think this will matter to most people but thought it would be worth mentioning. I give 3 stars because I couldn't turn it on with the included plug.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
