Review on ๐Ÿ”’ Spectra Premium ST533 Fuel Tank Strap Set - Increased Fuel Security and Stability (Pack of 2) by Dave White

Identical to factory belt

I recently installed this on my 2007 FJ Cruiser purchased in July 2006. Car is 15 years old. If this is you, then be prepared to spend a ridiculous amount of time unscrewing the four nuts holding the plastic gas tank protector to the underside of the old straps, as mine rusted through to the bolts. Even the rust remover and nut extractor kit weren't successful enough in removing it and my only hope was to use a dremel with a metal cutting disc.) Care must be taken to support the gas tank while removing the plastic guard, old belts and the reverse operation to be removed . There are some helpful videos on U-Tube. Don't forget to remove and reinstall the grounding strip to the front of the plastic cover before you're done. I recommend buying (4) new nuts (and washers if you can't mount the torch) for the plastic protection - as you will most likely cut them or at least destroy them if you try to take them off) and (2) buy new bolts into the frame as it can be difficult to find any semblance of thread. remained after removal. These purchased Spectra Premium ST533 fuel tank straps fit the same as the factory straps but were not painted (which I believe were the factory straps). At this point it probably doesn't matter as these unpainted belts will most likely survive the rest of my rusty frame! But if you wish, you can always paint them with metallic paint before installation to increase their durability. Be sure to remove the rubber from the old belts and add it to the new belts prior to installation as this will help minimize vibration. Make sure to wear good safety goggles as all that falling rusty debris and cut metal is sure to give you a real "headache" if you don't!
