Against all advice, since I have msi 990fxa-gd80 with fx8150 and Gigabyte GA-990fxa-ud7 with 5350, both compatible motherboards, I would consider trying to upgrade at least one of these processors. So I ran some tests and found that my 8350 is clocked at 4.3GHz and my 9590 is clocked at 3.9GHz. not overclocked, but water-cooled on a gigabyte board. that's true, but it's knocking 5150 out of the water, so here's the thing. I wish I could just get another 8K series for the price, but it runs solidly and without looking at benchmarks everything seems smoother and faster. I'm not very good at overclocking and all my attempts with all three processors fail even with the slightest increase, leaving me unable to achieve the 5GHz speeds that the processor claims.
