April 27, 2021 My first.only.review of anything. This is a very good product. Maybe not optimal. Because of the thin wire connection between the base and the volume knob. However, this can be treated. It may seem tiresome, but it's worth it. When you first receive your pillow speaker, carefully remove it from the packaging. Align and connect the cables and check the tone and volume controls. Be very careful with the cable when it is connected to the BASE speaker and volume control. After testing, make sure it has SOUND and also a good volume control, carefully tape the cable where it connects to the speaker, as well as the volume control. DO NOT wrap tape around WIRE. Keep the tape flat on the cable and also where it connects to the speaker. Gently press down on the tape to ensure it is fully "adhered" to the cable and specifically to the speaker input. Make sure the tape has a smooth, flat connection to the cable and the top and bottom of the speaker. . Add several layers of tape. both on the top and on the "bottom" of the cable and speaker. Make sure you keep the tape FLAT. Gently press down on the tape again and gently smooth out to remove any "air pockets" etc. Add several layers of tape on both sides, press lightly and make sure the tape sticks to the wire and speaker edge entry. I applied masking tape to create a FLAT "blanket" on either side of the tape and speaker input. I created a "patch" to keep the cable connection secure where it enters the side of the speaker. The "ribbon" measures 1 x 1 1/2 inches. You can use any type of tape you prefer. Just make sure you create a solid "Blanket.Patch" tape so the cable doesn't move back and forth where it connects to the speaker and also where the cable connects to the volume knob. If the wire cannot move at these WEAK POINTS, the connection must last a long time. I am happy with my in-cushion speaker and have bought MORE for the future. You "never know” what the future will bring. Getting ready! :) :) :)
