it's really not bad. There is no heater control and there doesn't seem to be any.

For what it is and how much it costs, it's really good. There is no heat adjustment and it seems like there are quite a few options for different hot boots. I bought it to do home repairs on some of the kayaks I received. I have a hot air plastic welder at work, but it needs an air compressor. Let it warm up, heat the surface to be repaired and the putty material and start introducing a new one into the repair area. I had to build up the tail section from all the wear and tear. My only complaint is that I would have liked a little more power. 80 simply increases the HDPE repair time. If you don't want to make a living from it, it costs money.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Big and chunky
