After 29 years with EE. fails 90% of the time when used in a high voltage and current circuit. Basically they are tube amps. But KESTEF is a name that never fails. I like the thicker 0.05" KESTER solder because it's easy to use and can be held in one hand while soldering with the other. a perfect bead falls on my solder joint. I've found that with other brands after only 2-3 hours of use the chemicals used (didn't look for it) left a chemically yellow/brownish ring around the joint the solder has lost its "luster" and looks/mostly dead. In most cases it can I just take it off circuits without getting hot. BUT NEVER WITH KESTER. It is reliable under high voltage and current conditions. A brilliant shine stays with KESTER and keeps the solder joint in place. Like I said. My solder joints could can't be found. I WAS CALLED KESTER FOR TOTAL RELIABILITY. You may pay a little more than unknown solder. But he always bit my ass. BRAND except KESTER SOLDER. There are si sure fakes. So if you think you can get a huge discount on KESTEF. then it is basically a fake. Do not get me wrong. ensures that every soldered seam at every temperature. NOT MADE WITH KESTER. , if "Kester" is written on the pipe or spool. I don't have to worry about my solder joints. Thanks Craig Robichaud Jacob Custom Amplification Athol, MA
