A few weeks ago I was going through my emergency kit to see if it was expired or approaching its expiry date. While everything was laid out on the tables, I noticed that my emergency water filtration was a little weak. I believe my supplies will support both of us for quite a while, but when we have a house full of family and neighbors, more food and especially water will be needed than we can provide for everyone. We have a small year-round stream on the premises, however there is no way a person can drink unfiltered or untreated water from it. But at least there is a source. I use my smaller filtering device every time I go camping at the lake, but the water filtration is very slow and will never meet the needs of the group. The water in the lake actually looks worse than the water in my stream and my water straw works great when I'm camping. reviewers that it will work.
