Review on Tripp Lite Keyspan High Speed USA 19HS: Maximize Your Connectivity with Lightning-fast USB Transfers by Steve Modesto

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It has served me for a long time but seems to be causing BSODs and missing driver updates since 2010.

. one of the driver files for it. The errors I was getting were causing blue screen errors on startup, so the easy ways to get into safe mode in Windows 10 weren't available. I reinstalled the drivers and did a few other things and things seem to have settled down but check the driver files which are from 2010 after downloading them from the tripp-lite website. The website doesn't have any data for the drivers but I assume it's from 2010. The Keyspan Serial Assistant App has a build date of June 2010 and October 2007 for the firmware. Windows 10 was released in 2015. I haven't tried the alternatives sold at Revain, but I checked their driver pages and see 2016, 2017 and 2021. If Tripp-Lite still sells these new ones, they must have driver updates newer than 2010 . I'm giving it 3 stars as it has worked for me for a long time and has kept my even older Calcomp DesignStation digitizer running, but for anyone buying today I wouldn't recommend it unless they keep up the drivers up to date.

Pros
  • Excellent price.
Cons
  • Big and bulky.
