I use two of these to mount spare tires to the wall of my truck trailer. If I didn't think they were strong enough, I wouldn't give them a chance to fall on my superkart. These special hangers include a hex nut and wing nut to secure the spare tire, which is crucial. Tighten the hex strainer a few turns, then use the wing nut as a lock nut to secure it. As already mentioned, the hairpin is quite long. It's easy to trim it down with a hacksaw and then I added a hole to mount a large hitch pin to further secure it. You still have to take them somewhere to actually load them. the time will show.
