I've included a photo showing the difference between the front and top of the butcher block countertop where I used this kit and the side where I didn't have. I left extra time between each of the three steps, like washing it and letting it dry for a full day. I applied the oil and left it overnight. I wiped off excess oil, applied wax and left for a day. Sand off excess wax. It's been three months and the spills are still at the surface and a pleasure to clean up. My original plan was to apply every 1-3 months but it looks like I only have to apply once or twice a year.
