I have a metal analog caliper on my workbench that I have had for several years. Works perfectly. The other day I accidentally put another hot hair dryer on it, the hot end of which touched the plastic lens of the caliper, melting it, preventing the dial from moving. This lens cap replaced it with no problems and restored my caliper to fully working condition. I like it.
