I have a metal analog caliper on my workbench that I have had for several years. Works perfectly. The other day I accidentally put another hot hair dryer on it, the hot end of which touched the plastic lens of the caliper, melting it, preventing the dial from moving. This lens cap replaced it with no problems and restored my caliper to fully working condition. I like it.

I repaired two calipers with cracked plastic lenses. A regular caliper that I use for woodworking and Mitutoyo 505-626-50. With a broken caliper, the bezel came loose with a slight lever and a plastic ring kept the lens off the face. Everything fit together easily. On the Mitutoyo, the bezel also pops up when you press it lightly, but the lens pops out of the front of the bezel. The replacement is inserted, but too thick and too small. After reading lots of guides online I was initially concerned about ordering just one jar for my broken Mitutoyo jar. All recommend buying a special press for inserting the glass back. But the bezel came off immediately, and a light press of a finger was enough to remove the lens and put a new one back in.
