I already have a martingale chain collar so I figured out how it was supposed to work. I've never used it with a nylon ring, but my pup (62.5lbs German Shepherd/Husky) probably appreciates how much lighter it is. It is high quality as I expected from Mighty Paw. The buckle comes in very handy on the martingale, especially when you need to put it on a pup who doesn't want to stand still. I wish the ring on the tag was reinforced. My pup has several charms so they ring and rip the material that attaches the ring to the collar. On my last MP collar, the tag ring was almost completely worn out, meaning my pup could have lost it relatively easily in the field or on a hike. I don't mind that it's a plastic ring, it's a tough plastic as is the buckle, just wish it was sturdier. That's really my only complaint. I've said in other reviews I'd like to see more colors (something more girly for my GSD bitch) but can't make a great product out of it :) Definitely not for dogs who want to chew their collars - they're stressed or they are left alone. My pup chewed on the ring so he's back to his Mighty Paw Martingale :P If they added some more female flowers I would be buying this again for my female GSD in no time.
