The product does what it was designed to do: amplify the signal. In my situation I have an Xfinity with two cable boxes. The addition of a 3rd cable box reduced the signal strength for everyone and as a result an amplifier was needed. Why 1 star was removed: no power cord. You must have an extra coaxial cable in reserve to connect the power supply from the wall to the amplifier. This is not a replacement for an existing 1:1 splitter and is somewhat disappointing. I find that people expect everything needed to build this product to be included, even if the cable that comes with it is 1 foot long.
