Absolutely LOVE this item. I have a stubborn husky who loves to roam free and chase deer but now she stays in the yard and just watches. I haven't had to use it in a while, but that's the purpose of the collar, isn't it? My dog hasn't worn a collar in months. The collar's battery lasts 2-3 days if left on day and night. The controller battery lasts forever. I've had a few times where it wasn't shocking BUT I have a fat long haired dog and I don't like it being too tight around his neck. If you're worried about cruelty, think about it; I couldn't let my husky play and have fun because he had to be on a leash and now he can play, race and be a happy dog. I can walk with her and she comes with me without a leash when I feed the deer. She is much happier!
