The glass is simple and functional. Well built and durable, it will keep your drink near the temperature you poured it at long enough for you to drink. It offers double wall insulation (air separation) for the cup itself and two top design options, each made of plastic. My guess is that the top, while well sealed, offers the least amount of insulation. So you lose heat at the top. The page stays at outside temperature. Even an earth-safe metal straw and the included brush won't help maintain the temperature in the jar, but they can save the earth or a large sea creature. It is a well constructed, simple and fully functional drinking vessel. No leakage is expected during the lifetime of a currently living person. The included optional accessories add a variety of features to the basic function of the beverage storage cup, allowing the drinker to pick up and seal the beverage being stored. I'm sure some very thirsty drinkers will remove the lid entirely to swallow whatever is poured inside. The only issue for me is storage of unused items. For example, I already have a set of metal straws, now I have another one (plus a brush) and a second opinion on a hat. The good news is that I have at least a backup and a place to save them in case I ever need them or if I find a friend who needs them. A traveler or someone who wants to save less in their life cannot take advantage of the extras on offer beyond what they chose as the first option.
