Review on πŸ“‘ Optimized Usmile LW1650 Portable Long Line Antenna for Improved RTL SDR Receiver Performance and Access to Various Shortwave Radio Stations by Isaac Maze

For a quick temporary use, this will work.

Can be used as a portable or emergency antenna, works well. I wouldn't use it as a temperamental antenna in your area as it doesn't survive year round. Used quickly, the supplied cord proved to be solid. I rolled under the wire with a 102-inch whip and it withstood a quick hook. I've tested this with the Boulder Co. 15000 and 10000kHz time standards and when the frequency is plugged in it's fine. When connecting, you can cut off the BNC connector and connect it to the Gator clamp, and then connect it to the antenna and get a little better performance. I have used this antenna on both the Grundig Satelit 800 and G3 and it works. But for the best results, spend your money and buy a higher quality 80/10 HF wire set and you're done.

Pros
  • Great for camping, emergency communications, etc.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
