The whole 2 burner propane cooktop is open at the bottom. I don't feel comfortable placing it on anything other than steel or stone! I had to put a stainless steel stand underneath to use it. There is nothing to say on the handles "set on fireโ, and then regulate the flame visually, and not by the indicator of the handle. Very high pressure with flames.
