Review on 💡 Aprilaire 4040 Solenoid Valve Voltage by Adam Alvarez

Poor score as some parts are missing and no parts list to review. The block was fairly easy to install and worked well. Except that I had way more water flow than before and that would have resulted in enough water splashing that some of the water would have spilled all over the bottom of the humidifier lid. I didn't know at the time, but it must have come with a small plastic insert that fits into a tube on the "OUT" side of the solenoid that limits the water flow to the level the humidifier is rated for. Apriler calls it the Blue Hole. It's actually a flow restrictor. And no replacement magnet was provided BUT it was shown on the installation diagram. However, there were a few missing parts shown in the diagram (there was only one compression screw in the kit, and there should have been two). I went to the hardware store and just bought the missing parts instead of sending them back and waiting days for a new one. But I just bought a regular plastic tubing insert (which I also bought at a hardware store) because the circuit looked like it was the regular type of insert you use for plastic tubing. And the hardware store didn't have anything that could serve as an insole. But after finding the leak, I looked at the pictures on the Aprilaire website and found a "blue hole" that should be in the solenoid valve assembly (see the parts I received. Since it wasn't an actual Parts list gave, and nothing the installation The instructions didn't mention a hole of any color (it was just on a hand drawn diagram and listed as 'hole'), I had no idea such a part existed and quite frankly I did just lucky i found out because i might have had to call a service engineer to fix it if i hadn't come across this picture on their website this is very poor quality control at the end of the process to place an order to carry out with this product.Hope the solenoid itself will be better quality and last longer.
