Review on Moto G8 Plus by Craig Edwards

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Handy phone at an affordable price

The Moto G8 Plus isn't a premium phone, but for just $200 it does a very good job. The screen, cameras and battery are good for a cheap mid-range phone. This is a GSM only model, it has a dual SIM slot or can be used with a SIM card and micro SD. Motorola's interface is nice because it's very close to vanilla Android, but Lenovo has been slow to release new Android versions. I can wait, but it may not be for everyone. This is my second Moto phone after the G5 Plus. I've used Google's flagship phones (Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 5). I really appreciate that the Moto experience isn't full of annoying UI changes or pre-installed junk apps. The phone I received was an international (Mexico) model with a US compatible charger and USB-C cable. This is also the first time I've bought a phone with a TPU case so I didn't have to aftermarket it. So far very satisfied.

Pros
  • Moto Experiences You get exclusive features like Moto Display and Moto Actions to make life a little easier.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
