Review on πŸš— Enhanced Street Guardian SGX2HW SGGCX2PRO Dashcam Hardwire Kit with Mini ATO Low Profile Fuse Taps for Advanced Parking Mode by Corey Burgess

Revainrating 5 out of 5

good image quality; Parking flexibility with cable set

I installed a Street Guardian SGGCX2PRO DVR with the SGX2HW wiring kit. This system was included in the 2017 VW Golf. The installation went smoothly, although I spent a lot of time deciding where to run the cables, especially for the optional rear camera. The tool that came with the dashcam really helped access the space behind the edges of the headliner and trim. This completely covered the wiring. The DVR works great. I think the 3M adhesive that attaches the mounting piece to the windshield and rear window is excellent and seems very strong. Due to the very tight fit between the camera unit and the mounting adapter, there is very little vibration or free play. I like this system better than the suction cup approach. A set of cables allows you to set the camera to a "3-wire" power option that includes a park mode. You can choose how many shots are taken per second (1, 2 or 5) and how long they remain active after the ignition is switched off. The wired adapter includes a low-power shutdown sensor and a 4-position battery voltage switch; I set it to 12.2v. I have to say one of the best things about this system is the excellent and very responsive tech support from the Nevada Street Guardian. Visit the appropriate forum on Dashcamtalk.
