This is by far the most accurate and easy to use tire pressure gauge I have ever used. I have tried many regular pen style gauges, some digital gauges and even a large truck style gauge to check the pressure on dual tires. My previous favorite over the years has been the trusty Accutire digital sensor, which I had for about 8 years. The main problem with this sensor was its operation in very cold weather (e.g. -20f) when the readings got shaky. When his battery finally died a week ago, I decided to buy this Auto Meter instead. First off, the dial on this piece is incredibly clear. The white front with black markings and black arrow make it easy to see even fractions of PSI readings. The relief valve works perfectly, no leaks (yet). I just have to remember to press the deflation button to reset the sensor while taking a few readings while deflating an over-inflated tire. The build quality appears to be top notch. This thing is a lot heavier than a regular pen-style gauge, but it's very compact. Easily fits in any pocket. I'm not worried about dropping it either, it feels rock solid. It also presses against the tire nipples very gently, making it easy to get a good seal for accurate readings. In that respect, this gauge is superior to any other I have used to date. My only real concerns relate to my diesel pickup. This thing has a max range of 60psi, but my truck's commercial tires are inflated to about 80psi. On the other hand, the lower maximum pressure means that the pressure gauge can be more accurate within the specified range, so it is hardly negative. In addition, this sensor does not reach the wheels on the inside of the curve with twin wheels. These complaints are minor and probably don't affect 90% of potential buyers. Short story: I recently fitted winter wheels/tires to my car. After installing them, I checked the tire pressures with a cheap pen gauge (after realizing the battery in my Accutire gauge had died). All of my tires are showing very low readings, around 21psi, not the required 32psi. My electric pump also died so I had to inflate all 4 tires with a manual bike pump. Eventually she got them down to 32psi and drove to the grocery store. While driving, the handling felt very sinuous, almost dangerously unpredictable. I put it down to brand new winter tires, thinking they were going to wear out. I went home and ordered this automatic gauge to replace my old Accutire digital gauge. I then went out and changed the tires on my wife's car (which required even more bike pump anxiety because they were all low too). Fast forward ONE day (because Revain is cool and somehow got it here a day early) and I got my new gauge. To test this, I checked my car's tire pressure. They were all 10 psi above normal! Turns out the cheap pin I was using was way off and I was only riding in the center of the tire tread. I used this new sensor to get the tire pressure back to a true 32psi, drove the car out and control was back to normal. No more dangerous instability. So I went home and checked the tires on my wife's car as well. In fact, they were all 8psi over normal (37psi instead of 29psi). Don't risk your life with a cheap pen meter. These digital Accutire sensors are inexpensive and relatively reliable, making them a great alternative. But if you are looking for a really high quality pressure gauge that is reliable in all weather conditions, then this car gauge is for you.
