I can't stress this enough. If you have an ATH M50X with stock pads, GET IT NOW! The original ear cushions, as many have said, are too small and heat up the ears very quickly. I've refrained from buying them at the same time as headphones, but people's feedback that they degrade sound quality got me thinking. A few days later I couldn't take the original pads anymore, they made my ears clogged and sweaty, gave me a headache after an hour of use and constant general malaise. I ordered them with fast delivery and strapped them on in just minutes - a helping hand makes the process super quick. COMFORT: I immediately noticed that the padding did its job perfectly and my ears fit comfortably. The velor ring and perforated interior keep me super cool - I don't sweat like I used to, even after many hours of Battlefield 1 haha. Now the headache is gone and the size of the ear cups reduces the pressure on the top of the ear cups on my head and before buying I thought they could use more padding. SOUND: The moment of truth came when I connected them. not an audiophile, but this is how I rate the change: the bass isn't as punchy, but only by a small amount, but the increase in distance is the biggest factor, so increasing the volume makes the change almost imperceptible, you can even point it out bet it sounds better in everything (high, mid, low) than the original. The leather parts reduce the sound power, as they say about the velour-filled version. I also feel that they block outside noise better. After a few days of listening to music and playing Battlefield, I can definitely appreciate the balance while still feeling the power of the game's explosions and artillery. I've really enjoyed the headphones and see no reason not to switch to them given the balance of sound quality and velor ring comfort.
