Terrible smell, bad glue, cheap terminals, possibly good sound

First, let me tell you what system I have. I installed an Alpine SWS-12D4 subwoofer in this box with a Pioneer 9605 amplifier feeding the car speakers and subwoofer. This box is also within the recommended size for my sub. I'll start with the good. The box itself matches the material of my carpet in the trunk perfectly. It pairs beautifully with my subwoofer and produces way more bass than I would have expected from a 12" subwoofer (take care as this is my first subwoofer and subwoofer so there are likely better sounding solutions out there). Since the box is still functional and, in my opinion, provides good sound reproduction, I give it two stars instead of one. Now for the bad. The box came with a damaged metal tag, wrinkled and scratched (the picture doesn't show the damage well). I suspect it's a shipping issue but still disappointing. In addition, when connecting the subwoofer, one of the terminals broke off (see picture). Because of this, I had to drill holes in the plastic to run wires to power the subwoofer. This created a leak in the box which makes noise when playing as the Aire goes through the holes. It's only noticeable when the trunk is open, but I'd rather it didn't happen. It could also have been damage in transit but having seen other reviews pointing to the poor quality of the terminal I believe this is a poor production. Also the glue on this box is not very good. You can move the fabric around the box and the fabric that was wrapped in the port has been blown away by air movement (see pictures). Finally, this box has a terrible smell. I noticed that when I first unpacked it and thought it would go away over time. But this was not the case. After installing the subwoofer, I noticed a specific smell in the trunk when playing at high volume. At first I thought the problem was in the electrics, but after a couple of weeks I realized it was the pits. The amount of air my subwoofer moves at high volume can cause most of my car's interior to smell like chemicals. Overall this box sounds good and seems to hold up to my subwoofer apart from the fabric but with terrible smell, bad glue, cheap connectors and shipping damage. I'm not impressed and will buy a new box.
