and installation was easy with one small issue
I replaced the factory unit with a Pioneer DIN single unit and used this kit for my installation. It fits my 2005 Outback perfectly, looks like it came from the factory and was easy to install with one small issue. The last piece of trim didn't fit properly, leaving a small gap at the top of the head unit. It turned out to be slightly deformed. I contacted Metra and after some small mistakes they sent me another finish with the same result. Except for the decorative strips, everything matched perfectly in terms of color. A good product.
