Just finished this project but used black walnut instead of pine. I made 28 spindles using a 1/4" router bit and router table. I preferred the 1/2" spindles to the 3/8" spindles shown in the drawings, so I made the rails a bit thicker, to pick them up.You will need access to a drill press to accurately drill spindle holes and screw holes.This is the most beautiful piece of furniture I have ever made and I have received many compliments on it.
