U Bild 599 Country Cradle Project Review

The cradle turned out fine but I would recommend a softer wood like pine rather than oak which I chose. Details were carefully cut out, but the cradle turned out pretty.

Airplanes are easy to read for dii project people. I'm a carpenter so it was easy for me to read. I had no plans for this project. I'm doing it for a family member. This gives you all the information you need to do this.

The writing is very very small I have to use a magnifying glass to read it and I still can't see it Basically useless, if you don't have very good eyesight don't order this model

The pattern is great, but to save money the company prints it double-sided on a single sheet of paper, leaving it completely uncut and unusable. You cannot cut out one part of the pattern without destroying the other. It is better to find free plans online.

Great template. This is the mt 6 template from U Image. The carrycot looks perfect and has been well used since our first granddaughter was born. I bought turned spindles for plain spindles, but other than that I built the cradle exactly as pictured. Pine is recommended in the template but I used red oak, I just found out I will be building a second one for our youngest son and sister in law. I make it out of walnut.

Just finished this project but used black walnut instead of pine. I made 28 spindles using a 1/4" router bit and router table. I preferred the 1/2" spindles to the 3/8" spindles shown in the drawings, so I made the rails a bit thicker, to pick them up.You will need access to a drill press to accurately drill spindle holes and screw holes.This is the most beautiful piece of furniture I have ever made and I have received many compliments on it.

I work at a hobby woodworker and wanted to improve my skills and take on something more challenging. When I got this the plans looked straight forward and it really doesn't require much equipment. I used tracing paper to transfer the plan drawings onto the tree. I checked the dimensions and double checked before sawing. The finished product looks great. However, getting the bottom of the crib right is a big problem because if you follow the plan it won't easily fit on the rails. Disappointing…
