Delicate grab bar on bath and shower products

I bought 5 grab bars for different spots (4 in the shower and 1 outside). They are very well made and do their job perfectly. Someone there complained that they weren't for cavity walls. That's true, but I've bought several Toggler Snaptoggle 1/4-20 mounts from Revain. This is a relatively new product that is MUCH better than the spring loaded V-Bolts of the past as they lay flat on the base. I used them to attach handrails to the inside wall of my fiberglass kiosk. Worked great and the setup is rock solid. I used three (3) flange screws. A little effort, but worth it. If you have a ceramic tile wall and the stud configuration (spacing between studs) is not appropriate for rod placement, I would recommend carefully drilling the tiles into the brickwork with a drill bit and installing them with Snaptogglers. You won't have 500 pounds of pull, but it should do as a support bar. If in doubt, you'll need someone to open up the adjacent wall to attach a backing board (2 x 4 or 3/4 inch plywood) to the adjacent stud. In any case, the bar itself is a good buy, well made and does the job, contrary to what some of the "snowflakes" are so adamant about! Good luck with your project!
