1.) The manual is one of the worst I've seen, with images of such poor resolution that they are unusable. 2.) Videos of the manufacturer replacing these parts (Kenmore, Whirlpool, etc.) are much more helpful. BUT 3.) Rack height adjusters WILL NOT WORK if you assemble them according to written instructions or videos; Your stance just stays in the down position. The thumb levers MUST be tight or the mechanism will not rotate properly under pressure for the dual height adjustment to work. I have attached photos to show what I mean. If you just put the part in as instructed, it won't work. You need to place a "plastic spring compressor" under the first cast tooth in the plastic adjuster or it won't work. If the manufacturer made the "spring pin" longer so that it actually applies tension when inserted into the assembly, this would be fixed. So bad design, bad instructions or both? You make a call, but if you want the double height to work, you have to assemble it according to the photos attached. I hope it helps.
