This flashlight is a beast! It will instantly melt five ounces of silver! It is similar with copper. The following comment is not negative, just something to be aware of. This flashlight burns a lot of gas - fast. So as the gas volume decreases, the pressure also decreases, which means the temperature of the tip decreases. Thermodynamics 101, PV=nrT. This is very important when working with a large amount of metal in the crucible. Silver doesn't even have a melting point of 1.763F. However, this can make a difference for copper as the melting point is 1984F. All you have to do is swap bottles or let the current one stabilize at room temperature. I like this burner very much and can only recommend it!
