This diagnostic tool saved me several hundred dollars. I was able to take care of some basic issues I was having with my 2001 Honda Civic EX, and then when I came to something I couldn't handle myself, I took it to a mechanic with a special request to save on costs. If you know how to handle a car this is a fantastic tool to add to your kit. It won't give you all the information you need, but you can read codes and reset the service light, check the check engine light, etc. Interestingly, the automakers are listed first by region and then alphabetically. So you must more or less know where your car was made, but it doesn't matter much. It's just different from other tools I've used. So far I've only used it as a diagnostic tool for existing medical conditions - I haven't used live data readings except to look at them, and I haven't bothered plugging it into my computer. The screen is bright even when you're working outside and the device feels good in your hand. It's not so big that it looks clunky, but not so small that it can get lost either. I am very happy with this scanner. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a professional scanner handy!
