Reliable diagnostic tool - saved me a few hundred bucks on mechanics.

This diagnostic tool saved me several hundred dollars. I was able to take care of some basic issues I was having with my 2001 Honda Civic EX, and then when I came to something I couldn't handle myself, I took it to a mechanic with a special request to save on costs. If you know how to handle a car this is a fantastic tool to add to your kit. Very good OBD2 scanner

I took the Godiag GD201 OBD2 scanner because there are many drivers and many cars in our house. My wife's car had intermittent problems, but every time we took it to the shop for service they were unable to reproduce the problem. It wastes a lot of time and makes you feel like you're going insane. So I hoped this would help us better understand the problem and communicate with the mechanics in the shop. HOORAY! NO FUNCTIONS WORKS! UPDATED, REGISTERED AND RECEIVED NOTHING! Only error codes are available.

ALMOST USELESS: This block doesn't provide anything useful except a list of error codes. I tried it on my 2008 Saturn Vue. I tried every function and it failed to automatically identify my SUV, which quickly takes care of my cheap $30 device as well as my fully functional diagnostic system. Both identify my vehicle quickly and provide information on operation/function. Some functions did not work - Tested on a 2006 Range Rover HSE

I'm not a professional mechanic in my life, but I'm not an amateur either. My conclusion: This is a good additional tool, but you have to know your car well and be able to carry out secondary diagnostics. And some things just didn't work. This is not normal for a more expensive mid-range instrument. Unfortunately, you have to deduct 1 star for this - for this price everything should work. When trying to access the playback menu, the LCD screen froze three times in a row and slowly turned white.

Extremely difficult to get update: buggy: no tech support

Everything you need to connect your GODIAG GD201 OBD2 scanner to PC and vehicles came with a great zipped hard case (with handle) , Quick Start Guide and User Guide. Immediately after unpacking, you need to run the update on the scanner. The user manual says that the free updates have ended. When the free updates end, your tool will still work, but you will no longer be able to access updated servers without purchasing an update pack.
