Some functions did not work - Tested on a 2006 Range Rover HSE

I'm not a professional mechanic in my life, but I'm not an amateur either. My conclusion: This is a good additional tool, but you have to know your car well and be able to carry out secondary diagnostics. And some things just didn't work. This is not normal for a more expensive mid-range instrument. Unfortunately, you have to deduct 1 star for this - for this price everything should work. When trying to access the playback menu, the LCD screen froze three times in a row and slowly turned white. I would have to unplug and plug the scanner back in to reset it (pic). Using the OBDII menu, this scanner failed to successfully communicate with my particular car on 5 separate attempts resulting in no data (pictured). For my needs and probably most, this is the most important feature of all and I have yet to figure out how to get it working. In comparison, my other $29 scanner can extract and erase OBDII codes from the same vehicle instantly and automatically. Some virtues of expiation. It has a lot of service options (see menu photo). It is impossible to check what is and is not for all cars. I have a very finicky car that only likes dealer diagnostics with a lot of luxury features and surprisingly this tool worked with them. In some cases (e.g. volatility test) it only works on new models of my car. As a test, the tool automatically controlled the sunroof to successfully pass the position calibration. The non-OBDII diagnostic menu has successfully auto-identified my vehicle with the correct VIN. Why can't it communicate with OBDII? If you can watch all the videos I have you will see how the menus work and many bugs found. In my case, I have a benchmark. Diagnostic report from a professional mechanic. Your report, using a non-Range Rover scanner, found all the same errors. Many of them were either "lost connection" or a false error. I assume that this cannot happen with a more common vehicle. Just for the sake of completeness, I connected to a Windows laptop. The user interface is very similar to Windows 95. Stuck on many updates and it took quite a long time (2 hours) to update all machines. Also, you should tear the USB cover off the scanner the first time you try to take it off for 10 minutes and no one else is using this type of USB connection, so you don't lose the cable.
