Edit 9/20/19: It's not a bad lock, but it's still the best budget option. Plug in closed position once after purchase. I think it's because the screw is a millimeter too short. IF THAT LOCK CLOSES, the trick is to turn the key all the way to the locked position and then TRY AGAIN TO UNLOCK. Then when the door is open, disassemble and reassemble the lock as it should go. It's annoying, but I'm keeping it. This is a good castle. Some complain that the latch gets stuck when closed, but I don't see how that's possible, but maybe it is :) Maybe they've updated it since the reviews came out? Here are pictures of the inside and outside so you can see how it works. .For me this works great and fits into my existing lock hole with minimal chiseling.
