There simply is no connecting link and this drive is no exception. My drive connects and is recognized by the computer, but it doesn't recognize the CDs I put in, no matter what brand the disc is. It also doesn't matter what software you install - it's just a hardware defect, and if you buy one of the cheap Iomega products there's about a 50/50 chance you'll get a defective one. If you're lucky, you might end up with a device that actually works perfectly. Get it from a network admin who has had to use many Iomega products over the years (about half of them are useless) - don't buy this product. if you are not an avid gamer and just need to take every chance.
