I had some old kaki boards that were used to attach grips to steel bars , must be replaced. My irons have aluminum shafts and the handles are still good. My old iron set has hickory coated steel bars and very old leather grips so I decided to leave them alone. So I used the kit to replace the knobs on my Driver, 3, 4 and 5 Woods. The hooked blade comes in handy for cutting through old handles and removing them quickly, and then I spent some time getting the shaft clean and smooth. I screwed up the first two and had to throw away the grips, but then I got the hang of it and managed to make rackets. Took me about 2.5 hours to make just 4 lines so I'm glad I don't have to do irons, my fingers got tired from wrapping and tightening with only 4. Initially I was only given the kit for a good utility knife and some supplies to possibly fix something. When I saw the instructions I fished out my old clubs and checked if any of them needed a grip. The woods I used I got from my aunt and they are about 40 years old but the wood is in great shape but needed resharpening so I decided to make them. I like the rubber block to secure the racquet, but without a vise I had to settle for cinder block and tape to keep the shaft steady and in place to wrap. A good set whether you have clubs or not the items will come in handy although if you are not a golfer you can buy a utility knife and other things cheaper. Recommended for golfers who have time for self care.
