Review on 🚿 Danze DA603567 Round Stem Washerless Cartridge: Smooth Operation for Single Handle Tub & Shower Faucets by Michael Domus

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Say no to plumbing nonsense. You can do that!

Matches this Danze shower switch. (I don't have a bath, just a shower) and this works great. My shower has been dripping for years. The plumber said he couldn't get that part and would have to break out part of my tarrazzo wall to blacken a brand new bend. No thank you. Turn off your domestic water first. The trick is to remove the handle by turning the wide ring counter-clockwise by hand as shown in the photo. Then it's obvious. Be sure to note the orientation of the cartridge and the grey/white temperature limit gears (you will need to reuse these as they are not included with the new part). Also note the position of the teardrop holes on the silver plate relative to the gear. Emphasis on the main part of the cartridge. I turned it upside down and through trial and error I finally got it so that when the handle was in the down position the shower was off. I pulled out the "Spring Doohickeys Washer" with a screwdriver. I also cleaned the brass where the cartridge was inserted with steel wool because hard water had collected there. I applied some silicon grease to the surfaces of the spring clips and the o-ring around the cartridge. Put everything back together (the notch on the cartridge should line up with the notch on the diverter, be careful) Walla! No more drops. I did it. I am 50 years old, I am a very pleasant mother. you can do it too

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
