I had originally been favorably impressed by this cotton terry robe. That was before threads started unraveling. This is most definitely not one of those ultra-deluxe terry robes you find at five-star hotels, but I have found that those are too bulky -- especially in the sleeves -- for everyday use. This is kind of a medium weight, warm but not too heavy.I'm not sure what to make of the hood; I've never had a hooded robe before. Is this for people who use the robe as a towel when they get out of the shower? It seems like sort of an unnecessary feature to me, but the cut of the robe is generous elsewhere -- I'm a short man, and the large-sized robe goes right down to the floor -- so you don't pay a penalty for the hood, as far as I can tell. I should mention that the sleeves are a good length -- probably around 32 or 33 inches, like those on the dress shirts I wear. But unfortunately, after a few weeks of use, the robe more and more shows unraveling threads, which the care instructions tell you to cut with scissors. Cutting these threads now has become as common a ritual as mowing a lawn!So I have come to question the long-term durability of this robe. I would suggest buying something else.
